Qi2 vs Magnetic Compatible Power Banks: A Sourcing Guide for 2026

Magnetic Power Bank Portable Wireless Battery Charger Power banks 10000mah

When you source a magnetic wireless power bank in 2026, the most important question is whether it is Qi2 certified or just “magnetic compatible”. Qi2 is the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) standard that added magnetic alignment to Qi wireless charging. The first generation supports up to 15 W, and the newer Qi2 25W generation (also called Qi2.2) supports up to 25 W. Only products that pass WPC certification may use the Qi2 name and logo. A magnetic power bank that simply snaps onto an iPhone is not automatically Qi2.

This guide is for distributors, retailers and brand owners sourcing magnetic wireless power banks. It explains the difference between certified and compatible products, what affects real charging speed, how to describe products honestly and what to ask the factory. Check WPC’s current logo and naming rules before you print packaging.

Certified, Compatible and Basic Magnetic: The Differences

Type What it means What you can claim
Qi2 25W certified Passed WPC testing for the 25 W generation Qi2 25W name and logo, as WPC allows
Qi2 certified (15 W) Passed WPC testing for the first Qi2 generation Qi2 name and logo, as WPC allows
Qi certified with magnets Qi certified charging plus a magnet ring Qi certified; describe the magnet as a feature, not Qi2
Magnetic, not certified Magnet ring and wireless coil, no WPC certification Describe as “magnetic wireless power bank” with the real output; no Qi or Qi2 logos

WPC certification involves lab testing, safety checks and interoperability tests with many devices. That costs time and money, so certified models cost more. Uncertified models can be good value, but must be described honestly.

What Decides Real Charging Speed

  • The phone. A Qi2 25W power bank charges at up to 25 W only with phones that support it. Older Qi2 phones charge at up to 15 W; Qi-only phones at lower speeds.
  • Heat. Wireless charging creates heat, and both phone and power bank slow down when warm.
  • Alignment and cases. Thick or non-magnetic cases weaken the magnetic hold and coupling.
  • Battery level. Charging slows as the phone battery fills.

Write speed claims as “up to” with the conditions, and test with the phones your customers use.

Our Magnetic and Wireless Range

Our current magnetic and wireless power banks include:

  • A 5,000 mAh mini magnetic power bank (93.7 × 63.8 × 14.5 mm) in black, red, blue and white
  • A 10,000 mAh magnetic wireless power bank with adjustable phone holder and built-in Type-C and iOS cables
  • A 10,000 mAh magnetic power bank with 5 W magnetic wireless output and phone holder, with silk-screen, laser-engraving and full-color logo options
  • A 10,000 mAh power bank with LED display and Qi wireless charging

These are magnetic and Qi-style wireless models. If your channel needs Qi2 or Qi2 25W certification, tell us at the start. We will tell you honestly which options are available and what certification involves for your order, rather than putting a logo on an uncertified product.

Honest Product Descriptions

  • Use “Qi2” or the Qi2 logo only for WPC-certified models
  • Do not use Apple’s MagSafe trademark for third-party products unless Apple’s program allows it; “magnetic, works with iPhone 12 and later” is a safer description
  • State the wireless output in watts and list the wired outputs
  • Show the battery capacity in mAh and Wh

Marketplaces and retailers increasingly check certification claims, and misleading logos are a common reason for removed listings.

Quality Checks for Magnetic Power Banks

  • Magnet strength: the unit should hold firmly on a phone with a magnetic case
  • Surface temperature during wireless charging
  • Foreign object detection: the pad should stop when a coin or key is on it
  • Kickstand or holder durability
  • Safety documents: IEC 62133-2 for the battery, product safety and EMC reports, UN38.3 and SDS
